Until 14 June, the Whitechapel Gallery holds the exhibition Natures, Natural and Unnatural, presenting the collection of V-A-C Foundation. Turner Prize nominated British artist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye selected the works from collection. According to artist, the general subject of the exhibition is the nature. Lynette compared the beautiful still lifes, photos and videos depicting plants, animals and people interacting with the world of nature.
“The works from the V-A-C Collection, which attract me or really caught my eye, all had a link to nature or still life or, a combination of the two. The title of the project refers to the idea of nature, and the different types of nature – the wild nature, nature that you bring into the house, human nature, people interacting with nature and the nature within a person. I wanted to think about all of those things creating the exhibition.”
Exposition includes works by Peter Doig, Gary Hume, David Hockney, Andy Warhol, and photos by Nikolay Bakharev.
