Every year The Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund awards the annual prize to photographers who make documentary stories.
According to the Emergency Fund’s program director Emma Raynes this year’s winners tended to step away from traditional documentary and photojournalism styles and put a new emphasis on creative visual language.
