Alexander Gronsky became a winner of the Aperture Portfolio Prize competition for the photograph series “The Edge” and “Pastoral”, winning a monetary prize of $2500.
The purpose of the competition, presented by the “Aperture” Foundation, is to identify trends in modern photography and search for photographers possessing a new outlook. This year the jury had to choose one winner from more than 700 applicants. Alexander Gronsky’s works will be presented to a wider audience on the “Aperture” site throughout 2010. Gronsky’s photographs will also be shown at the Slideluck Potshow XIV party, organized by “Aperture Foundation”, in New York on 13 November to mark the completion of this year’s contest.
