From November 4 to December 17, Alexander Gronsky is holding a personal exhibition at the L’Escale Gallery (in the Parisian suburb Levallois); he was awarded this exhibition as the winner of the grand prize of the Prix Photographique Ville de Levallois-Epson 2011.
Works from the series Voda i gory (Water and Mountains) will be presented at the exhibition; it is the first large-scale exhibition in France of a young artist whose career is already well launched, as is told in the organizers’ official press release.
The series Voda i gory (Water and Mountains) was created in the spring of 2011 during Alexander Gronsky’s travels through China and consist of two-part panoramic works: each landscape is portrayed by a pair of photographs that are placed side by side; this compositional approach conceptually references the format of Chinese scrolls.
The press release for the exhibition can be found on the event site.
