The Rena Effendi’s exhibition Pipe Dreams has opened at the White Cube gallery in Omsk.
This summer, Omsk spectators will be able to get acquainted with one of the most sensational of Rena Effendi’s projects. Pipe Dreams is the result of artist’s journey across the territories of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey along a 1700 km long section of Pipe Dreams. The series was noted at numerous international festivals and contests. It was displayed at the London gallery HOST in 2009 and at Moscow’s Gallery.Photographer.ru in 2010; separate photographs were published in The Guardian, Spiegel, Lens and PHOTO8; and in November, 2009, the Dutch publishing house Schilt released the album Pipe Dreams. A chronicle of lives along the Pipe Dreams.
The exhibition came to Omsk from Krasnoyarsk where it was part of the project The Siberian Character – Photographer.ru’s Days in Krasnoyarsk. Works from the series Pipe Dreams, reviews of it and an interview with the artist can be found on the site Gallery.Photographer.ru.
