Gallery Photographer.ru presents Rena Effendi’s first personal exhibition “HOUSE OF HAPPINESS”
“HOUSE OF HAPPINESS” is a reflection of the cultural and family traditions observed by inhabitants of the Fergana valley, a post-Soviet region currently experiencing a resurgence of radical Islam. These traditions intertwine with strange images in the “House of Happiness” or Palace of marriage, the remnants of a Soviet era establishment in which couples officially registered their marriage.
