Group Magnezit and Photographer.ru present photo project Magnezit. Time to Create. dedicated to 110-year anniversary of the largest manufacturer of the fire-resistant equipment.
In 2011 Magnezit celebrates it’s 110-year anniversary dedicated to the beginning of the production of the first in Russia magnesian fire resistant equipment in the city of Satka in Chelyabinsk region. Significant date requires understanding and summarizing, referring to the history of the factory, it’s successes and achievements. Company Photographer.ru acts as the organizer of two major events within the framework of company’s widescale anniversary celebration, offering to trace enterprise life cycle with the help of photography – evidence of Magnezit past and present. Two days master class by well known photographer Igor Mukhin (the member of agency Photographer.ru) took place April 2-3 in Satka. During it Igor told about industrial landscape and industrial portrait in photography, accompanying his story with practical examples. The photo contest designed to cover four main themes dedicated to Magnezit has already started in Satka: Our People, Our Achievments, Our Magnezit, Our History. As a result of the competition the exhibition consisting of modern photographs characterizing Magnezit every day life, it weekdays and holidays as well as archive photographs representing the chronicle of past years will be organized in the open space of a city square from July 9 till August 7.

Group Magnezit is among world leaders of top quality magnesium based fire-resistant production. The company provides the whole production cycle – from raw extraction to engineering and operational services. Crystal magnesite deposits near Satka were discovered at the end of the XIX century. In 1900 by means of private entrepreneurs (M. I. Markuson, A. F. Shuppe, A. O. Nemirovskii) magnesite mining and factory building were begun and the factory started working in September, 1901. In 1905 factory products were awarded with the Gold Medal at the First World Industrial Exhibition in Belgium for the highest refractoriness and pure quality. Today the group has manufacturing sites in Russia, China, Germany and Slovakia. There are 15 enterprises in the company structure.
